    Arab High-level Forum on WSIS and 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
    Beirut, Lebanon

    The Arab High-level Forum on the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) and 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is held on May 8-12, in Beirut, Lebanon. The High-level Forum will be organized by the Economic Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), in partnership with the Lebanese Ministry of Telecommunications, and in collaboration with OGERO Telecom, under the patronage of the Lebanese Prime Minister Saad El-Hariri. The Forum will include an Experts Meeting on May 8-11, and a Conference on May 10-12. It will bring together various stakeholders in the information society, digital economy and Internet governance in the Arab region, to review, present and discuss the linkages between the WSIS action lines and the 2030 agenda for sustainable development. Focus will be on how digital economies and smart societies can accelerate the implementation of WSIS action lines, themes and priority areas, as well as contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Arab Region.
